January 11 -- Follow Question --

1. Life in Viet Nam would be perfect if everyone is not equal because the idea of making everyone equal could lead to chaos. Like the events in the story, people are forced to wear these things that keep them like everyone else, it's just not fair. If someone is more talented, they could help your country.

2. If I was creating a world where everyone is equal, The law would be keeping them equal in a positive way like always try to move forward. Don't lose your faith, if you drop it, pick it up and continue. Help each other with all your heart and use all of your knowledge to help them. In the story we read, the government make people equal by making them dumb and stupid but my idea is the exact opposite. Why not making everyone smarter and better instead of the opposite. Going positive is better than going negative.

3. In my idea, no one is perfect and we can't force someone doing something they hate. So I think that instead of making everyone dumb or worst, why don't we help them improve what they're good at. Someone would be equal to someone else if they are good at other things. Like someone good at Math vs someone good at Language Art. Helping them improve is the way I'll help them be equal.

4. I don't understand this question right now ... I'll do it later !!!

5. I think that you was born to be competitive and ruling over each other. I think that it's almost impossible to be equal because everyone is born with a different talent. There's a quote. "no one is ugly, it's just that person don't know how to find his/her beauty". there's also a quote for lady, "there's no ugly women, there are just women who don't know how to make up". So I think that everyone is different in their own way so they are born to rule over each other but human was always equal to me.

6. I can't think of anything for this question right now ... I'll do it later !!!

NOVEMBER 2nd HOMEWORK

- Well first, so far, I saw 135 advertisements everywhere ...

1. How does advertising influence consumption?
+ The advertisement companies will never show the dark side of the product because they won't be able to sell the item as much as usual. When they make an ad, they will make it was best as it could be so they will never mention about the environment because at that time, they won't care anymore. And they way that they show he good side of the product, it make a big consumption.

2. Do you think citizens are sufficiently informed about the sustainability of our consumption habits? If not, how can we become more informed about sustainability issues?
+ I don't think that citizens are sufficiently informed about the sustainability of our consumption habits even if there's, it's only one out of a million citizens. There's a one easy way that I thought would be persuasive is to make advertisements that make people know it and suffciently informed about the sustainability of our consumption habits.

3. Do you think these advertising techniques influence what you and your friends purchase?
+ I think that these techniques put a big influence on me and my friends purchase because in school now, people especially the high grades students have a lot of new technology every month. It's been considered as a game, a hobby and a way to catch up with people. This phone makes you cool, this phone makes you hot, and a lot more. Even though we knew the negative effects of it, we would still want to catch up on the technology. The ad maybe didn't effect you, but when it effect everyone around you, you will be effected just by hearing people talking.

Ecological Footprint

1. The higher incomes people would leave more ecological footprint than the lower incomes people because the rich people have the ability to buy more things and when they have those thing, for example, cars, you would use it and car use fossil fuel and it comes back to many things that we can reduce so people with higher incomes leave mroe ecological footprint than the people with lower incomes. Also, when you have higher incomes, you might be able to buy cars that use waste .

2. Things that were on the listed is very expensive for lower incomes people to buy them. I think if we increase a little bit money on every item we bought everyday, we would help people have those things by using the bunch of money that was spended other things and make it cheeper for people to buy.

3. The ecological footprints are made of things that are producing but if a lot of advertisement board would be produced, the footprint would increase because of a billion of it need a thousand of things to produce and also cars and fuel to transfer it and lots of other processes.

4. In the future, we would have a better environment and that leds to having a good life. Everyone would live longer, the dooms day won't come that early. Last of all everyone would know it and respect things not being crazy and wild.

A message from Mother Nature

1. What is the main point of this article?
- The main point of this article is the effects that global warming are costing to the earth's environment
2. Vocabularies:
- Drought- a period of dry weather
- Monsoon- any wind that changes direction with the seasons
- Dispute- argument about something important
- Perception- understanding
3. Weather- something that happens over a short period of time (rain, snow, etc.)
Climate- something that happens over a long period of time (Vietnam: wet and dry climate)
4. Torrential monsoon rains in Pakistan caused flood
In the United States, flooding battered New England, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Oklahoma
A record-breaking heat wave baked the entire eastern part of the country
5. These days in Ho Chi Minh City it rains everyday, and almost like heavy rain, so even some of the streets are flood.
6. Perception means understanding something.
7. My perception of global climate change is the Earth’s get hotter. If people don't want global warming to happen, they have to start to save the earth by doing little things like: save energy (use less), stop cutting down the trees, reuse the papers, water bottle, boxes, and more. By doing these little jobs, it saves the Earth a lot.
